Africell Money was introduced in late 2016. Its commission is little bit higher than its competitor. 

Both mobile money customers and mobile money agents are required to register with valid ID cards such as passport, national ID card, voter ID card, driver's license...


To get access dial on any mobile phone:


As an agent *162#
As a customer *161#

To deposit (cash-in):

*162# select 3 and send/reply; 
enter customer's mobile number and send;
enter amount of money and send;
enter PIN/password and send.

Shortcut *162*3*number*amount*PIN# and reply


If you did a mistake, there is a way out instead of cancelling all and start new fresh; you just type 0 this will take you to your previous position you were in.



To withdraw (cash-out):

There are two options:

1. By dial from the agent phone: 
*162# and select 4; select 1; enter phone number; enter amount; enter PIN.

*162*4*1*phone-number*amount*PIN#


2. By dialing from the customer's phone:
*161# and select 6; select 2; enter agent's phone number; enter amount; press 1 to confirm and enter PIN.

To pay electricity (EDSA)

*162# select 6 and send; select 1; enter Meter number; enter amount; enter PIN.
